Fritz File #13

After a season of highs and lows, the year has come down to one game. We had a seven- game winning streak to open the season followed by a six-game skid, and just when we thought we were back on track, we were all surprised by our coach’s retirement. Yet amazingly enough at the end of all of that, we still have a chance to win the conference, have a first-round bye and play for the ScotiaBank East Championship at home.

In any sport or game, all you can ask is to be in a position to win at the end. Though we haven’t consistently played dominant football this year, we have showed glimpses of our potential. Now, it is time to take our two pre-season and 17 regular season games and learn from what worked and what didn’t. We have the opportunity to go into Toronto and turn our season around and head into the playoffs on a positive note.

The big question around town seems to be, can we do it?

Absolutely.

There have been many people in the press and the public that have said a lot of negative things about the team. People have said we aren’t good enough and we need to make changes. The city of Montreal and our fans all across Quebec have come to have high expectations for our team and that’s a good thing. The players on this team have the desire and the capability to become the champions that fans and this organization have come to expect. It’s about time we live up to those expectations and I look forward to doing just that on Saturday.
