Montreal – MontrealAlouettes.com – The Canadian Football League Players Association announced today its 2007 All-Star selections. Four Alouettes were honoured including centre Bryan Chiu, guard Scott Flory, receiver Kerry Watkins and punter Damon Duval.
Chiu, a 10-year veteran with the Alouettes, continued his excellent work on the offensive line, earning his sixth CFLPA All-Star selection. “It’s an honour that I wish to share with my offensive line teammates as well as the entire offence,” said a smiling Chiu.
Scott Flory was named to the CFLPA All-Star team for a third time, also receiving the honour in 2002 and 2005. He was also selected to his fourth CFL All-Star team in 2006.
In his third season with the Alouettes, Kerry Watkins was named to the team for a second consecutive year. The 27-year-old player caught 86 passes for 1,152 yards and five touchdowns in 2006.
Damon Duval made 51 field goals in 2006, surpassing the Alouettes’ record of 47 established in 1998 by Terry Baker. His made 110 punts for 4,999 yards, averaging 45.4 yards per kick. This marks Duval’s second CFLPA selection.
