Rookie Camp: Day 2

St-Jean-sur-Richelieu

For a second day in a row, the action took place at the Stade Haut-Richelieu due to rain.

Spectacular catches and a tight defence
Wide receiver Chris Davis had a great reception while Brian Bratton made a no-look grab of his own. Defensive end Andrew Battle had a sack and cornerback Keith Williams had an athletic interception, catching the ball while diving, before making a long return.

First steps with the Alouettes
Newly acquired Alouettes Cory Huclack and Ryan Karhut dressed for the second day.

Visiting Montreal
Players will not practice tomorrow as rookies will take a tour of Montreal: “It’s important for them to see where they might actually play. During camp, those activities are hard to manage,” said coach Popp.

Official Camp
The Alouettes’ official training camp starts on Sunday, June 3, at 8 p.m. Fans are invited to celebrate this event as of 10 a.m. The team is organizing a barbecue at noon where attendees will be joined by the players, cheerleaders and team mascot Touché. On Saturday, June 2, veterans will have their medicals in the morning.

New commissioner in town
New CFL commissioner Mark Cohon was at the Alouettes’ downtown office this morning for a meeting with Alouettes’ President Larry Smith and local media.
