Newcomer
Linebacker Jarred Corbin (6’3”, 195 lbs) has joined the Alouettes following four years with the York Lions. In two games in 2006, he had eight sacks, one knockdown and he forced one fumble. In 2005, he made 20 tackles in seven games.
Releases
Receivers Eddie Montgomery and Braden Smith, and rush end Matt Chown have been released.
Marching to a different beat
Music blared over loudspeakers today as the players hit both fields at the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean. Running back Andrew Hamilton and linebacker Mondoe Davis were the stars of the dance show, busting some moves on the sidelines to the beats.
Great plays
Cornerbacks Davis Sanchez and Mark Estelle, defensive back Chip Cox, wide receiver Brian Bratton, running back Mike Imoh and slotback Elijah Thurmon were impressive this morning, making spectacular plays.
Milanovich working hard
Scott Milanovich is the new quarterbacks’ coach, and according to Jim Popp, he is being helpful. His pro experience in the NFL, CFL, AFL and NFLE has come in handy when working with the Als’ young backup quarterbacks.
Tomorrow
The Alouettes will practice in the morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean, followed by an evening practice at Percival Molson Stadium starting at 7:30 p.m. Sunday’s practice is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
