Official release, Montreal – Quarterback Anthony Calvillo has been named the CFL’s Offensive Player of the Week following a three-touchdown, 310-yard performance against the Tiger-Cats in Hamilton last Saturday. He completed 27 of 37 pass attempts, including 13 in a row in the first quarter to help the Alouettes to a 29-20 win over the Ticats in what was the Als’ first victory of the season.
Calvillo also became just the fourth quarterback in CFL history to pass for 50,000 career yards during the win. At 35 years old, he is the younger player to do so.
Three games into the season, Calvillo is currently third in the league with 801 yards, behind Winnipeg’s Kevin Glenn (1,008) and Edmonton’s Ricky Ray (892).
