Official release, Montreal – The Montreal Alouettes have named Anthony Calvillo, Devone Claybrooks and Patrick Dorvélus the Alouettes Game MVPs following their Week 4 loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Percival Molson Stadium.
The winners are chosen following each game by the Alouettes’ coaching staff.
Offence
Receiver Elijah Thurmon was quarterback Anthony Calvillo’s primary target in the Alouettes’ win over Toronto last week with seven catches for 64 yards and his first touchdown as an Alouette.
Defence
Defensive tackle John Bowman registered four tackles and two sacks against the Argos, the second sack on one of the game’s most important plays. With Toronto on Montreal’s 11 yard line on second down, Bowman dropped Argo quarterback Damon Allen for a four-yard loss, forcing Toronto to kick a field goal.
Special teams
Kick returner Brian Bratton had the game’s most important play with a 79-yard punt return for a score near the end of the game.
