The Return of the “Kissing Bandit”
Our old friend Adriano Belli has returned from his stint in Hamilton. He is definitely one of the biggest characters in the league and he is an interesting guy to have in our locker room. I’m sure many people are wondering how long it will take for Belli to make his presence felt. I can’t say for sure how long until his presence is felt on the field but from the moment he stepped back into the locker room there was a definite change in the usual mood. It’s great to see that his positive and up beat attitude hasn’t changed.
Adriano had two and a half successful individual seasons for the Tiger-Cats despite the team’s struggle. Last year he was a CFL all-star and a force to be reckoned with and having played him twice this year already, I can absolutely say that I am glad he is on my side again. Belli is a very emotional player who flies around the field and gives you 110% effort. He has been criticized for his tendency to get penalties, but on every single down he is out there fighting to get to the quarterback and make a play.
All teams need personality and Adriano provides plenty for the Als. He has a great way of making practice seem like less work and more fun and always keeps people guessing. You never know what he is going to do next, but you can’t wait to see.
