Back to school
The Alouettes worked out at M.M. Robinson High School in Burlington, ON., at 2 p.m today following a train ride from Montreal this morning. This was the last practice before Saturday’s pre-season opener at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
Following in his footsteps…
Former Alouette Gary Chown was a proud papa today as he watched his son, Matt, work out with the Als. “It is an incredible feeling,” said the elder Chown, a linebacker with Montreal from 1974 to 1978. “I am really proud of my son.”
Students watching
Several M.M. Robinson students were on hand to watch the practice. Following the workout, players signed autographs with Jarret Payton among the more popular Als.

On offensive tackle Skip Seagraves:
“He is having a really good camp.”
On the strategy for the offensive line:
“We will do rotation on the offensive line; we want to give everybody a chance to play. Our quarterbacks need to see some action and I want to see a lot of players getting in the game.”
Tomorrow
The Alouettes play tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Rogers Centre against the Toronto Argonauts. The game will be broadcast live on CJAD 800 AM. The players will leave the city after the game and will arrive in Montreal around midnight.
Sunday and Monday
Sunday, players will lift weights individually at the Campus du Fort-Saint-Jean. No media availability is scheduled. The players will be back on the field Monday at 8 a.m. and will be available for interviews around noon.
