The big news out of the Als last week was the signing of Anthony Calvillo to a one year contract extension. This should add a needed spark to our team for the final stretch and into the playoffs.
I am sure no one is as excited as his “go-to guy” Ben Cahoon. These two guys together have achieved so much. They own pretty much every individual team record (passing and receiving) out there and together they almost know what the other is going to do before the other one does it.
Is it Ben who makes Anthony better or Anthony who makes Ben better? If you were to ask either of them they would give credit to the other. I believe that they enhance each other. Neither would be the player he is today without the other.
I have had the opportunity to play with both of these great athletes over the last six years and I had the chance to be there when Anthony broke 50,000 yards passing and Ben reached 10,000 yards receiving.
These great feats happened at different times of this year and when I congratulated both of them they had similar responses. Right after they said thanks, they said “I couldn’t have done it with out you guys.”

Quietly these two have dominated the CFL over the last decade and we will be speaking about these two many years after their playing days have finished.
They have set the bar extremely high and every player that plays in Percival Molson Stadium for years to come will be measured up against numbers 13 and 86.
