Official release, Montreal – Alexia Calvillo, wife of Montreal Alouettes’ All-Star quarterback Anthony Calvillo, has been diagnosed with a B-cell lymphoma.
Doctors confirmed the diagnosis today while specifying it is a non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma that is treatable. She will begin chemotherapy treatments today, which will be followed by radiotherapy.
“We would like to thank all fans who have sent in messages and prayers,” said Anthony Calvillo, speaking on behalf of his entire family. “We remain optimistic and want to thank everyone for their respect.”
The Montreal Alouettes have dedicated a special section of their website’s homepage at MontrealAlouettes.com for fans who want to offer wishes or send the family messages.
The organization will continue to provide updates to the fans and asks the media to continue to go through the organization for requests.
