Montreal – Staying in the province of Ontario for their second of two fourth-round draft picks, the Alouettes used the 32nd overall selection to choose offensive tackle Gurminder Thind from the South Carolina Gamecocks.
The Mississauga native spent five years playing at both tackle and guard, with starts against South Carolina State, Florida and Clemson in 2007.
Moreover, in addition to two starts in 2006, he earned the Most Improved Offensive Lineman Award during the spring.
Thind began his career as a Gamecock the same year renowned College Football Hall of Famer Steve Spurrier took over the coaching reigns from former coach Lou Holtz.
During his time in Columbia, SC, the Gamecocks advanced to both the Independence Bowl in 2005 and the Liberty Bowl in 2006.
