Official release, Montreal – Montreal Alouettes’ VP and General
Manager Jim Popp announced today the signings or receiver Peter
Warrick, defensive back Paul Woldu and offensive tackle Julius Orieukwu.
Warrick (5’11, 195 lbs.) was selected fourth overall by the
Cincinnati Bengals in the 2000 NFL draft. He played four seasons with
the Bengals before joining the Seattle Seahawks in 2005. He was part of
the 1999 NCAA champion Florida State Seminoles. He is 30.
Woldu (6’0, 173 lbs.), was selected in the fifth round, 36th
overall, by the Alouettes in the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft. In 2007, he
was named a first-team Canada West All-Star. He had 18 tackles, one
interception, and five knockdowns. He participated in the 2006
East-West Bowl. He is 23.
Orieukwu (6’7, 317 lbs.) played five seasons with the Arizona
State Sun Devils. He started the last seven of his 12 games played in
2007, and the last seven of 10 in 2006.
All three players are expected this Sunday for Opening Day of training camp at Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. All fans are welcome.
