Montreal, Sept. 17, 2008 – The Alouettes and the team’s Wives Association are pleased to announce the annual Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive will be back in Montreal when the Als take on the Edmonton Eskimos this Sept. 21 at Percival Molson Stadium.
Prior to and during Sunday’s game, the wives will help Purolator and Sun Youth volunteers to collect non-perishable food items and cash donations at each entrance of the stadium, with donors having a chance to be photographed with the Grey Cup.
Donors will also enter a draw for a pair of tickets to the 2008 Grey Cup championship game to be held at Olympic Stadium on Nov. 23 and will have a chance to win an autographed Anthony Calvillo jersey.
Having collected over 1.8 million pounds of food over the last six years, Purolator has helped make the lives of thousands of Canadians better. In Montreal alone, the Tackle Hunger program has collected over 17,271 pounds of food since 2006.
