Montreal, Sept. 2, 2008 – Over 150 current and former Alouette cheerleaders, from 19 to 70 years old, will come together for a spectacular half-time show during the Alouettes’ Sept. 7 home game against the Toronto Argonauts.
Members from Alouette cheer squads dating back to as far as 1956 will come together at mid-field to perform routines reflecting the evolution of the team from the 50s to today. On top of a large group representing the women from 1996-on, there will be about 20 ladies who performed in the 50s and 60s, as well as “Miss Alouette 1986.”
The women will be celebrated at a dinner at the Molson Brewery on Sept. 5 before holding a general rehearsal on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Percival Molson Stadium.
Among the 150 women attending the reunion, several will travel from as far as California, Florida, Seattle, Vancouver and Calgary.
