Montreal, Sept. 23, 2008 – The Montreal Alouettes and Purolator are pleased to announce that the 2008 edition of the Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive at Percival Molson Stadium last Sunday collected 17,449 lbs of food.
Organized for a third consecutive year in Montreal in partnership with the Alouettes’ Wives Association, this year’s drive allowed Montrealers to add to the total of 17,271 lbs from 2006 and 2007 combined.
Having collected over 1.8 million lbs of food over the last six years, Purolator has helped make the lives of thousands of Canadians better. With this year’s total, in Montreal alone, the Tackle Hunger program has collected 34,270 lbs of food since 2006.
