Montreal, Sept. 24, 2008 – Following a 414-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Edmonton Eskimos, Montreal Alouettes quarterback Anthony Calvillo was named today the CFL’s Offensive Player of the Week for Week 13, while defensive end Jermaine McElveen was named the league’s top defensive player.
Calvillo completed 31 of 38 passes as he led the Alouettes to a 40-4 win over the Edmonton Eskimos, while McElveen registered three sacks, forced two fumbles and recovered one.
Ben Cahoon was the runner-up for top Canadian.
The Alouettes will next host the Saskatchewan Roughriders this Sunday at 1 p.m. at Percival Molson Stadium (RDS, TSN, CKAC SPORTS, CJAD 800, 98,5 FM).
