Montreal, Nov. 7, 2008 – The Montreal Alouettes are pleased to announce that Québecoise rock singer Marie-Chantal Toupin will perform during the half-time show of the East Division Final this Nov. 15 at Olympic Stadium.
With five albums to her credit, including her most recent “À distance”, released in late September, Toupin has been a big hit since arriving on the Quebec music scene in 1997. She has had several major hits including “J’veux que tu saches,” “Comment je pourrais te dire,” “Maudit bordel,” and “Naître.”
Toupin has been nominated for several Gala de l’ADISQ awards, the French version of the Juno Awards. She won the 2005 Félix for Rock album of the Year, and her record “Non Negociable” has sold over 100,000 copies. Her last tour was attended by over 25,000 fans. The next year will be a busy one for the singer, as she embarks on a province-wide tour with her musicians to present her latest material.
The East Final will be held this Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium (RDS, TSN, CKAC SPORTS, CJAD 800).
