Montreal, Feb. 18, 2009 – Montreal Alouettes’ Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp announced today that offensive tackle Phil Bogle has signed a one-year contract plus an option and is expected at the team’s training camp this June.
Bogle (6’3’’, 312 lbs) is a 29-year-old tackle who has several years of experience in the NFL, the NFLE and the AFL. He began his career in 2003 with the San Diego Chargers, starting 13 of 16 games and helping running back Ladainian Tomlinson rush for over 1,600 yards.
He has since played for the Cleveland Browns, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Hamburg Sea Devils (NFLE) and the Philadelphia Soul (AFL), winning the Arena Bowl in 2008 with the latter. He was also a finalist as the AFL’s Lineman of the Year award and was named a first-team All-Star last year.
The Alouettes’ training camp will begin this June 7.
