Montreal, Mar. 11, 2009 – Montreal Alouettes’ Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp announced today that veteran linebacker and special teamer Walter Spencer has re-signed with the club for one year plus an option.
Spencer (5’10’’, 217 lbs) joined the Alouettes in 2007 following three seasons in the CFL with the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2004-05) and the Calgary Stampeders in 2006. He led the league in 2007 with 30 special teams tackles and had another excellent season in 2008 with 17 special teams tackles in as many games, good for second on the Alouettes behind Shea Emry.
The Alouettes’ training camp will begin this June 7.
