Montreal, Mar. 31, 2009 – Montreal Alouettes’ Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp announced today that defensive back Jerald Brown has signed a one-year contract plus an option with the club.
Brown (5’11’’, 185 lbs) is a 28-year-old defensive back with five years’ experience in the AFL with the New York Dragons, Arizona Rattlers, Columbus Destroyers and Kansas City Brigade. He recorded 232 career tackles, adding 248 yards and three touchdowns on 26 interception returns.
He was named the 2006 AFL Defensive Player of the Year after leading the league with 11 interceptions and 133 interception-return yards. He then attended training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs.
He is expected at the Alouettes’ training camp which will begin this June 7.
