St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, June 8, 2009 – The following is the daily report from the Alouettes’ training camp for Day 2.
Early bird gets the worm…
Following an intense first day of practice yesterday in front of the watchful eyes of about 1,500 fans, the Als hit the field early this morning for two outdoor workouts at the Campus du Fort St-Jean.
Additions
The following players joined the Alouettes today:
– Canadian receiver Keith Godding;
– Import tackle Johnny Jackson;
– Import receiver Dorrell Jalloh.
Subtractions
Linebacker Jon Abbate was released today, while linebacker John Mohring has been placed on the suspended list.
A veteran point of view
Éric Deslaurier after making several nice catches today :
“Camp is always intense and yeah, I made a few good catches, but I believe you always have to dig deep and work hard. Football is 75 to 80 per cent mental and concentration, after that, it’s just execution.”
According to Coach Trestman
“The energy was good and it really picked up for the second practice – the guys were very competitive. Guys on both sides of the ball were going hard and we got a good look at our special teams.”
