St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, June 14, 2009 – The following is the daily report from the Alouettes’ training camp for Day 8.
Afternoon practice
After seven days of two-a-day practices, players were on the Campus du Fort St-Jean fields for only one session this afternoon. Numerous fans watched along the sidelines and were happy to meet their favourite players after the final whistle of the day.
No roster change
With the team’s first pre-season game set for next Wednesday against the Argonauts in Toronto (7 p.m., CJAD 800, CKAC Sports 730), no changes were made to the roster.
Officials hit the field
CFL referee André Proulx, umpire Benoît Major and head lineman Michel Pinsonneault joined the Alouettes on the field today in full uniform to provide the players with a feel of where they will line up during games. CFL officiating supervisor and former referee Jacques Décarie was also on site for the annual event. The officials also took questions from both players and coaches regarding the rules that will be implemented during the 2009 season.
Monday’s schedule
The team will practice at 9:30 a.m. at Stade du Haut-Richelieu. Player and coach media availibility will follow at 12 p.m..
