The Alouettes kicked off the pre-season with a strong performance in all three aspects of the game. Adrian McPherson set the tone early, leading an offence that eventually put up 433 total yards, registering 26 first downs and four majors, while also employing Ricky Santos and Chris Leak under centre.
Montreal took a 13-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, eventually putting up a 37-24 win over the Argonauts at Toronto’s Rogers Centre. Running back Chris Jennings was strong, totallying 122 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.
Special teams were also on point for the Als with John Morhing and Dorrell Jalloh each blocking a punt in the win, and Damon Duval was 2-for-2 on field goals. On offence, Frantz Hardy was the team leader with eight receptions for 67 yards and a score.
