Since joining the Als in 2004, Kerry Watkins has always been a reliable target for quarterback Anthony Calvillo. Fresh off his fourth-straight 1,000-yard receiving season Watkins spoke to MontrealAlouettes.com about how he manages to be such a consistent force.
What do you do to always be so dependable?
I work harder each year and I always review my past season to get better at things I may not have done so well. I also always like to have a copy of every game so I can see what I could have done differently to improve myself.
What’s it like living in Montreal during the season?
I love living in Montreal! The fans are always so welcoming, warm and respectful and the community is great. I just love this city!
What do you do during the off-season at home?
During the off season, I like spending a lot of time with my family. I also cut hair in a barber shop because I just got my barber’s license! I also enjoy bowling at least twice a week and I take my boat out on the water to go fishing. Let’s not forget that my day always starts off with a good workout!
What has been the highlight of your football career so far?
Being blessed with the strength and ability to play the game we all love so much, football!
