Emry among fine company
Shea Emry’s dream season just keeps on getting better.
Tuesday, the CFL announced its Week 11 Players of the Week , naming the Alouette linebacker as the league’s top Canadian. Last week saw the Richmond, BC, native tally his first career sack and six tackles in a winning effort over the Lions.
Emry becomes the sixth Alouette to take home a weekly honour, joining Damon Duval, Anwar Stewart, Anthony Calvillo, Matthieu Proulx and Larry Taylor who has two Special Teams Player of the Week awards to his name so far this season.
Dorsey joins Argos
After an unsuccessful stint with the Washington Redskins in the NFL, Dominique Dorsey is back in Canada with the Toronto Argonauts.
Last season saw Dorsey rack up 1,257 yards on 50 returns with a touchdown on kickoff returns and 752 yards and a touchdown on punt returns.
Dorsey looks to add some speed to the Toronto return game, as the Argos have yet to return a kick back for a touchdown this season.
Dorsey is 26.
Logan impresses in NFL debut
Stefan Logan, formerly of the B.C. Lions, had four kickoff returns averaging 29 yards for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as a punt return for 11 yards in his NFL debut against the Tennessee Titans.
Logan is one of two former CFL players playing south of the border, with Cameron Wake suiting up for the Miami Dolphins.
Wake saw no action for the Dolphins in Week one.
