Ontario road trip concludes
When the final whistle blows at the conclusion of Saturday afternoon’s matchup between the Montreal Alouettes and the Toronto Argonauts, whatever the outcome, the Als should leave the Rogers Centre, Toronto and the province of Ontario with their heads held high.
Sporting a 9-1-0 record against the Argos and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats under head coach Marc Trestman, the Als have outscored their Ontario opponents by an 88-16 margin in 2009.
The Als have one more meeting with each team this season, hosting the Tiger-Cats on Oct. 18 and visiting the Argos to close out the 2009 regular season.
Congi staying in Regina
Saskatchewan’s Iron Man kicker, Luca Congi has agreed to a two year and an option contract extension with the Roughriders, the club announced on Wednesday.
Financial details of the signing were not released.
Congi has dressed in 66 consecutive games for the Roughriders and has kicked 129 field goals and 169 converts for the Riders tallying 585 points in the process.
He is 26.
