Montreal, Oct. 14, 2009 – Montreal Alouettes defensive back Jerald Brown has received the first CFL honour of his career, as he has been named the CFL’s Defensive Player of the Week for Week 15. It’s the second week in a row that an Alouette has won this honour.

The 2006 AFL Defensive Player of the Year picked off quarterback Henry Burris twice and recorded four tackles in the Alouettes’ 32-11 win over the defending Grey Cup champion Calgary Stampeders at Percival Molson Stadium. The Alouettes swept the season-series and improved their perfect home record to 7-0-0.
Brown is currently tied for second place in the CFL with four interceptions and is second on the Alouettes with four tackles for a loss, third with 37 tackles and four with three knockdowns.
The Alouettes will next welcome the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this Sunday at 2 p.m. at Percival Molson Stadium (TSN HD, RDS HD, CKAC SPORTS, CJAD 800 AM).
