Steve: Ben Cahoon’s catch was one of the best ever. I’ve heard a lot of people comment about how hard it was to hang onto that ball when he caught it on the other side of that Saskatchewan player’s helmet and how he hung onto it even after he hit the ground but what I’d like to know is how Ben and Anthony Calvillo snuck that magnet into the ball before the play and then removed it after the play without anyone else seeing it!!! It must have been difficult to pull the ball off that guy’s helmet when the play ended!!! 🙂 🙂 Good work Ben Cahoon!!

E–Camp evals
With the 2010 CFL Canadian Draft rapidly approaching, MontrealAlouettes.com offers you a look at the top CFL hopefuls and how they fared at the league’s annual Evaluation Camp.
Joe Eppele – OL, Washington State: The 6-foot-7, 277 lbs Washington State product was the early favourite heading into E-Camp, but may have seen a drop in interest of his stock following a less-than-stellar performance in one-on-one drills. He is, however, still very much in the mix to be selected first overall by the Argonauts.
Steven Turner – WR, Bishop’s: In addition to breaking the record for fastest 40-yard dash time after crossing the line clocked in at 4.31 seconds, Turner showed that he has more than just quick feet, as his name was slotted at the top of every receiver category. Coincidentally, with Toronto slated as the number one pick, Turner had this to say about Argonauts Vice-Chair Michael Clemons. “Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons has inspired me to play professional football. Being a smaller player all his life and overcoming that to become a legend.” Maybe he’ll trade in his Bishop’s purple and black for Toronto’s double blue?
Shawn Gore – WR, Bishop’s: Turner’s teammate at Bishop’s, Gore, was arguably the best overall player at the combine. The Toronto native is primed to jump a few spots up the draft board.
Cory Watson – SB, Concordia: Deemed “a nightmare to defend” by his defensive co-ordinator Warren Craney, Watson is coming off a stellar season in the slot position for the Stingers. His 52 receptions rank third in the CIS, while his 821 yards have him at second in the country.
Argos go pivot hunting
Following the signings of quarterbacks Gibran Hamdan and Canadian Danny Brannagan earlier in the week, Wednesday, the Toronto Argonauts announced the signing of former NFL quarterback Cleo Lemon to a deal.
“Signing with the Toronto Argonauts is a great opportunity with a great organization,” said Lemon in a statement. “Now it is my responsibility to be in the best shape of my life and learn as much about the Canadian game as possible before I hit the field. I’m excited about this opportunity and intend to take full advantage of it. I believe in preparation and will go full steam ahead in doing my part to help lead this team to future success.”
“Cleo is a mobile quarterback with experience as a starter in the NFL,” added head coach Jim Barker on TSN.ca. “He is smart, accurate and has a reputation as a solid decision-maker. We are excited to watch Cleo compete with our other quarterbacks for the opportunity to lead our club.”
