Montreal, Jan. 27, 2011 – The Canadian Football League announced today the nominees for the 2010 Coach of the Year, with Montreal Alouettes Head Coach Marc Trestman being named one of the candidates for a third-straight year. Toronto’s Jim Barker and Saskatchewan’s Ken Miller are the two other candidates.
Since arriving in Montreal in 2008, Trestman has led the Alouettes to a remarkable 38-16-0 record, including three East Division Championships, three Grey Cup appearances and two Grey Cup victories. In 2010, Trestman led the Alouettes through a lot of adversity, directing the team through an injury plagued season, en route to a 12-6-0 record and a second-straight Grey Cup championships, a feat that had not been accomplished since 1996-1997.
The winner of the Annis Stukus Trophy will be announced at the Coach of the Year Luncheon on Friday, Feb. 25, in Vancouver during the CFL congress.
