TC2011: The Alouettes practise in the cold

Sherbrooke, June 14, 2011 – While the Montreal Alouettes are currently at the midway point of not only their 2011 training camp, but also of the month of June, the weather at Coulter Field at Bishops’ University today mirrored that of an autumn day. The team took to the field for two consecutive practices under chilly conditions on Tuesday morning to put the finishing touches on their game plan.

The morning’s sessions marked the last time that the Alouettes will practise before their first pre-season game, scheduled for Thursday night when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers visit Percival Molson Stadium at 7:30 p.m. The Alouettes’ players and coaches are both eager to return to Montreal and get the pre-season under way.

“We want to see how the new guys, who have been playing well in camp, segway into being under the lights. We are looking to see who will make that transfer from practice to the speed of the game and how they will fare with different looks and against an opponent,” said Trestman as he answered questions in the afternoon.

Tomorrow

Trestman has given his team the day off to rest and to continue studying the playbook.
