Coach Trestman doesn’t expect Bourke to play Sunday. |
Montreal – The Montreal Alouettes should have slotback Jamel Richardson and possibly receiver Kerry Watkins back in the lineup this week, but will be without offensive tackle Josh Bourke.
Trestman was optimistic about the team’s most experienced receivers. Richardson missed one game with a sore knee, while Watkins has yet to play this season due to a sinus problem.
“We’ll know more when we get final reports about Kerry on Thursday,” said Trestman. “We’ll look hard at him being ready to go.”
“He’ll get enough work on the side without contact for the next few days and we’ll make a decision Thursday. Jamel Richardson should be fine.”
Bourke out
Bourke left in the third quarter of the Alouettes 40-17 win over Toronto on Friday night with a sprained knee but returned later wearing a brace.
Coach Marc Trestman doesn’t expect Bourke to play when the Alouettes play host to the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday and is questionable the following week at Hamilton.
“He’s going to be sore,” said Trestman. “It’ll be a week anyway before he comes back.”
Rookie import Jeraill McCuller is expected to replace Bourke.
