Montreal, August 8, 2011 – Montreal Alouettes Vice President and General Manager, Jim Popp, has acquired non-import defensive lineman Luc Mullinder via a trade with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
In exchange, the Alouettes have sent import wide receiver Dallas Baker to Saskatchewan.
Mullinder (6’04”, 280 lbs.) recorded 89 defensive tackles and 15 sacks during the eight seasons he spent in Saskatchewan. So far this season, he has recorded eight defensive tackles and one sack. He played his college football with the Michigan State Spartans and is now 30.
“This could be a great opportunity for both players. We really appreciate the professionalism of Dallas Baker. He played a big role, with his three starts at the beginning of the season helping us start at 4-2. We wish him the best,” said Popp.
“Luc will have the opportunity to come in and help us. He has been a big part of Saskatchewan’s success over the last 4 seasons. We have seen a lot of what Luc is capable of bringing on defense and special teams,” added the team’s general manager.
Baker, who is in his first CFL season, made three catches for 29 yards this year.
