Montreal, August 23, 2011 – Montreal Alouettes Vice President and General Manager, Jim Popp, has traded non-import offensive lineman Dylan Steenbergen to the Edmonton Eskimos.
In exchange, the Alouettes have acquired the Eskimos’ sixth round picks in both the 2012 and 2013 Canadian Drafts.
Steenbergen, who was the team’s first round pick in 2009 (7th overall) dressed in only one game during his three season with the Alouettes.
Floyd on practice roster
The Alouettes have also added import returner Perry Floyd to their practice roster.
Floyd (5’,8”, 168 lbs.), who played his college football with the Wingate Bulldogs, spent some time with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers earlier this season. He caught two passes for 28 yards.
Rounding out the day’s transactions, non-import defensive lineman Luc Mullinder has been released. Mullinder played one game with the Alouettes this season after being acquired via a trade with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
