Montreal, September 9, 2011 – The Montreal Alouettes will welcome former star running back Johnny Rodgers at Sunday’s game versus the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Percival Molson Stadium.
Rodgers is featured on this week’s cover of the popular sports magazine The Sporting News, which voted his 1971 Nebraska Cornhuskers football team as the best-ever in the NCAA’s 125-year history. In 1972, Rodgers won the Heisman Trophy which is awarded to the most outstanding US college football player. Two years later, in 1974, he won the Grey Cup as a member of the Alouettes.
He will also take part in the team’s annual golf tournament on Monday, September 12th at Le Diamant Golf Club in Sainte-Monique.
