MONTREAL – Although the Alouettes wrapped up Week 16 under cloudy skies at Percival Molson Stadium on Sunday, the team’s playoff forecast has never been clearer. Winners of four in a row and hosts of at least a home playoff game come November, the Als appear to have finally found their bearings and are now in control of their own destiny.
With Winnipeg’s loss at Edmonton last Saturday, Montreal currently sits atop the East Division, two points ahead of the Blue Bombers. The teams will meet this Saturday at Canad Inns Stadium in Winnipeg with a lot on the line.
Should Marc Trestman’s men triumph over the Bombers, the Als would clinch their division, securing a first-round bye in the post-season and an Eastern Final playoff date at Olympic Stadium on November 20.
In the wake of their most important game of the season, the Alouettes will practice twice this week in preparation for Saturday’s showdown.
As always, this week’s practices are open to the public, and all fans are invited to attend.
