MONTREAL – Home sweet home. A clichéd catchphrase perhaps, but one that nevertheless sticks when describing the Alouettes and their regular season digs at Percival Molson Stadium.
The Als’ home record has long been the envy of the CFL, and this year was no different. Sporting a league-best 6-2 record with one regular-season home game remaining, the Alouettes are once again set to finish the year atop the home-record standings.
As impressive as that sounds, the players know they couldn’t have done it without their loyal fans who make the climb up the mountain every game day.
“Playing at home gives us a huge advantage, that’s for sure” confirmed linebacker Marc-Olivier Brouillette. “We love how the fans turn out to support us rain or shine every game day.”
To thank fans for that support, the Alouettes will host the club’s first-ever Fan Appreciation Day on October 30, when the Calgary Stampeders come to town.
A variety of giveaways and surprises are in store for those in attendance at Sunday’s game, courtesy of a number of Alouettes sponsors, including the Club sportif MAA, Reebok, Sirius Satellite Radio, Tim Hortons, Subway and VIA Rail.
Nissan will also mark the occasion by offering a brand new car to one lucky season ticket holder.
But sponsors won’t be the only ones showing their generosity come Sunday.
The annual Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive will also be taking place during the Alouettes’ final regular-season home game of 2011.
Free-handed fans who donate a non-perishable food item at the stadium will get the chance to have their photo taken with the Grey Cup, in addition to being entered into a draw for a signed Anthony Calvillo jersey.
And with Halloween just around the corner, an AC jersey would be the perfect finishing touch for anyone planning to dress up as pro-football’s all-time leading passer this year.
Fans will have to be more creative than that on game day however, should they hope to leave the stadium with one of the Red Zone prize packs that will be awarded to those in the best costumes.
With everything being planned to close out the season at Percival Molson Stadium, Sunday’s game is shaping up to be one that no Alouettes fan will to want to miss.

Alternatively, tickets can also be purchased on the day of the game at the Percival Molson Stadium ticket office, located near the stadium’s main entrance along Parc Avenue, as of 11:00 a.m.
