MONTREAL – Normally a flight from Oklahoma City landing at Trudeau International Airport in Montreal wouldn’t be all that big of a deal; that is unless its cargo includes CFL leading rusher, Brandon Whitaker.
“It’s definitely a good feeling to be back,” admitted the Alouettes running back. “As soon as I got off the plane, a few fans already spotted me.”
Finally back in his adopted home in preparation for the 2012 season, Whitaker is already counting the days until Als training camp.
“It’s something that’s always in the back of your mind,” revealed the 26-year-old. “My family and friends constantly remind me that it all starts in just a few weeks, but at times it can feel like an eternity. But stepping foot back in Montreal certainly sent chills down my spine and now the season is almost here.”
While Whitaker is usually in town preparing to strap on the pads and buckle his chinstrap, something else has brought the speedster back to the city.
“I’m back here in my second home on official business,” hinted Whitaker. “I’m doing promotional stuff and interviews to let my fans know that I feel fantastic and that I’m ready to go.”
