MONTREAL – The Montreal Alouettes announced on Monday the signing of quarterback Scott Riddle, running back Garrett Wolfe, defensive back Rafael Priest and defensive end Julian Hartsell to two-year deals.

Riddle (6’0”, 210 lbs.) is the all-time leading passer at the University of Elon, having completed 1,168 passes in 1,779 attempts and 105 touchdown passes with a completion percentage of 65.7 percent over four seasons with the Phoenix. The Ramseur, N.C., native was the first quarterback in the Southern Conference to lead the league in passing yards for four consecutive seasons. He also ranks fifth all-time at the Football Championship Subdivision level with 13,264 career passing yards. Last season, the 23-year-old participated in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ training camp.
Wolfe (5’7”, 185 lbs.) appeared in 50 games after being selected by the Chicago Bears in the third round (93rd overall) in the 2007 NFL Draft. The 27-year-old racked up 282 rushing yards on 72 carries for one touchdown, and added 129 receiving yards on 11 receptions during his four-year career in the Windy City. The former Northern Illinois Huskies standout also combined for 125 yards on six kickoff returns, averaging 20.8 yards per return with the Bears. In 2011, he signed with the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League.
Priest (5’10’’, 181 lbs.) participated in the Atlanta Falcons’ 2011 training camp, playing in all four preseason games. In September, he signed with the BC Lions as a free agent and joined the club’s practice roster. The 25-year-old dressed in his first CFL game as an extra defensive back for the Lions on November 6 against the Alouettes. Priest was a four year starter at TCU, amassing 108 tackles and 40 pass deflections over that span.
Hartsell (6’4”, 290 lbs.) was a four-year standout at Catawba College where he totaled 96 tackles, 30 tackles for a loss and nine sacks in 40 games. The Columbia, SC native’s career was highlighted by a 25-yard interception returned for a touchdown and a three-sack performance during his senior year. Undrafted out of Catawba, the 24-year-old signed with the Tennessee Titans and made two preseason tackles.
