MONTREAL – After injuring his left shoulder in the Alouettes win over the Blue Bombers on Friday night, Anthony Calvillo sat out practice on Monday.
“Anthony has a bruised shoulder. He woke up this morning and it was sore,” explained head coach Marc Trestman, who saw his star quarterback soldier on and finish the game with 443 yards despite suffering the injury in the second quarter. “He went to have some tests done today and we should know more soon.”
On the heels of his injury, Calvillo’s presence under center on Thursday night when the Alouettes take on the Stampeders at Percival Molson Stadium is now up in the air according to Trestman. Should the 39-year-old pivot be unable to suit up, Adrian McPherson would get the nod against Calgary.
“Adrian took the reps as the starter at practice today and he did really well,” said Trestman following his team’s practice at Parc Hebert in St. Leonard.
An update on Calvillo’s status will be available following practice on Tuesday scheduled from 11:30 to 1:15 at Parc Hebert in in St. Leonard. As always, fans are welcome to attend.
