MONTREAL – The Montreal Alouettes brought their unique game-day experience to Parc Le Ber in Pointe-Saint-Charles on Saturday, offering a unique opportunity to young Atom and Mosquito football players as part of the first-ever Alouettes Community Football Festival.
The Alouettes transformed a pair of kids’ football games between the Pointe-Saint-Charles Aces and the Repentigny Rhinos, allowing them to live first-hand the excitement and high energy of Percival Molson Stadium.

“Our ultimate goal was to transform an Aces regular season home game into something exceptionally special for these kids, and to encourage the local community to rally behind them and to participate in the numerous activities associated with this special event,” explained Alouettes Chief Operating Officer, Mark Weightman. “The objective was to create an Alouettes game atmosphere and big-stadium feel, and to showcase the kids as the stars of the day.”
For this event, a temporary stadium was built, and the games included a community tailgate party, team introductions, National Anthem, DJ music between plays, Alouettes cheerleader performances, and a special half-time show, just like at Alouettes home games at Percival Molson Stadium.
Members of the Pointe-Saint-Charles community also actively contributed to the success of the day-long football celebration which also featured the presence of team mascot Touché, Alouettes Alumni, receiver Brian Bratton and safety Kyries Hebert, with the defensive standout having made the trip after playing in Hamilton the night before.
“Throughout my career, I’ve always had a passion for helping out kids and that seems to be even more true in Montreal where I feel that I’m already close to the community,” said Hebert who is in his first year with the Alouettes. “Anytime I get the opportunity to do or say something that can make a difference in a child’s life, I jump at the opportunity.”
