MONTREAL – The Alouettes took to Stade Hebert on Thursday for their first of two practices this week before leaving for Toronto for their pivotal clash with the Argonauts on October 14 at Rogers Centre.

While the Als are preparing to face the second-place Argos, two key cogs in their arsenal continue to make swift recoveries and are expected to play on Sunday.
“Jeff Perrett should be ready to go,” hinted head coach Marc Trestman of his offensive-tackle who sustained a left knee injury back in Week 11. “He practised today and was out on the field with the guys last week. We were very careful with him, but he should be back in the lineup for us on Sunday. “
With more good news to go around, Montreal’s offence received an added bonus in time for the Alouettes Fan Train to Toronto this weekend (TICKETS). Receiver Brian Bratton practiced for the second straight week as he recovers from a hyperextended knee which sidelined him for the past three weeks.
“It’s a huge relief to have recovered so quickly, but we still have the rest of the week to see how things play out,” admitted Bratton after taking reps with the first team offence. “It’s been a battle, but I’ve continued to work hard and now I’m just thrilled to be back playing. Of course, facing Toronto with so much on the line just makes my return that much sweeter.”
The Alouettes hold a one game lead in the race for first place in the East Division after splitting the season series with the Argos and can clinch a home playoff game with a win in Hogtown this weekend.
“That would be the ideal situation,” added Bratton. “Not only would that ensure our team clinches a playoff berth, but we would also be guaranteed date at Olympic Stadium. We know better than to look too far ahead, though. It’s a long season, and the key is to take one game at a time.”
The last time these division rivals battled for East Division supremacy this season was back on September 23 which ended in a 31-10 win for the Alouettes.
Both teams will be wearing various pink themed gear in support of breast cancer awareness. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to show their support.
Notes: Return specialist Trent Guy will undergo tests for a concussion after he was injured in the first half during last Monday’s loss to Winnipeg … Slotback S.J. Green is expected to miss Sunday’s game with a sprained right knee sustained two weeks ago at Hamilton while scoring a touchdown late in the fourth quarter. He did however work with the strength and conditioning coach during Thursday’s practice … The team announced the release of non-import safety Blaine Ruttan and import quarterback Jordan Jefferson … The team also announced the signing of three imports, safety Christian Scott, defensive end Kenny Iwebema, and defensive back Eddie Elder.
