MONTREAL – Alouettes linebacker Marc-Olivier Brouillette has been named the CFL’s Canadian Player of the Week following his best performance of the season this past Saturday in Saskatchewan.

The 27-year-old Montreal native was a highlight from the weekend’s defensive affair, recording three defensive tackles, two quarterback sacks and forcing a pair of fumbles.
A former QB collegiately with the Université de Montréal Carabins, Brouillette set up a go-ahead Alouettes’ TD, forcing the ball loose from Roughriders quarterback Darian Durant which was recovered and returned 54 yards for the major by teammate Jerald Brown, giving Montreal a 21-14 lead late in the fourth quarter.

The Player of the Week honour is the fourth-year Alouette’s first, and Brouillette has now tallied seven defensive tackles, two sacks and one special teams tackle since the start of the regular season.
