MONTREAL – Montreal Alouettes owner Bob Wetenhall announced today his selection for the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the franchise.

In recent years he has worked closely with me to achieve the consistent goals of my family with the Alouettes, institutionalizing the team in Montreal, truly being of real service in our community, and winning on the field. We are delighted to have found an individual to run the franchise with his knowledge, quality and dedication to the community.”

Weightman has spent the last 18 seasons with the Montreal Club after debuting his sports career with the CFL’s Baltimore Stallions in 1995. Appointed as the Club’s Vice-President of Operations & Events in 2002, Weightman achievements include overseeing the 2008 Grey Cup festival and events presented in Montreal, as well as the expansion projects at Percival Molson Stadium in 2003 and 2010.
Mark was named Chief Operating Officer in 2012, and has spent the last 18 months reshaping the organisation’s business operations. Among the main achievements during this period, the Club has completely restructured its fan services group to provide an added focus on customer service and personal client relationships, rebuilt is partnerships group by recruiting experienced executives to modernize the Club’s partnership initiatives, and expanded the Club’s marketing and social media team in order to increase the team’s efforts in new media platforms to create and nurture relationships with the Club’s fan base.
Born and raised in the small Laurentian community of Saint-André-d’Argenteuil, Weightman holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in marketing from Concordia University and a MBA from UQÀM.
