MONTREAL – The Alouettes announced on Tuesday that the club will host its first annual Football Coaching Clinic, presented by Old Dutch, on Saturday, April 26 at College Letendre in Laval.
At least 80 participants are expected to partake in the clinic, getting a full day of coaching instructions across sessions scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The event is open to coaches of all skill levels from programs for athletes aged 16 and older.
Designed to share the advanced content being utilized by Alouettes coaches as they prepare for the upcoming 2014 season, this special clinic will serve as a platform for Alouettes coaches to interact with those from across the province as well as those who participate in the development of football in Quebec.
The clinic will be divided into two sessions with a classroom segment and an on-field segment. Theories taught in the morning will subsequently be applied in the afternoon and the day will conclude with a Chalk Talk session, followed by prizes.
Current Alouettes coaches, Noel Thorpe, Assistant Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach, Mark Speckman, Running Backs Coach, Anwar Stewart, Defensive Quality Control Coach, as well as Jean-Vincent Posy-Audette, Defensive Assistant and Special Teams Assistant will all be present. Former Alouettes quarterback Anthony Calvillo will also be on hand for a special segment to discuss his playing career and his personal experiences in the world of professional football.
The goal of the camp is to continue the Alouettes’ efforts in the development of amateur football in Quebec.
