LENNOXVILLE – Rookie camp has wrapped up and the veterans have started reporting to Alouettes training camp HQ on the campus of Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, QC, but they’re not the only ones who will be making the trip to the Eastern Townships this weekend.

To celebrate the beginning of another CFL season, Alouettes fans are invited once again this year to attend a special opening day of training camp, as team cheerleaders, the Red Zone, mascot Touché, and even stadium announcer Jacques Moreau will all be on-hand when the Alouettes hit the field for their first official practice of 2014.

Kicking off at 7:50 a.m. the Alouettes will hold a pair of back-to-back practices on Coulter Field at Bishop’s University, the second set to start at 10:35 a.m. before ending at noon.

And that’s when the real festivities will get going, as the players, GM Jim Popp, new head coach Tom Higgins, and the rest of the Alouettes coaching staff will be introduced by Jacques Moreau before mingling with fans on-field and signing autographs.

Fans looking to gear-up for the 2014 season will also be able to take advantage of special deals at the Red Zone trailer, with up to 80% off select merchandise.

An event for all ages, young Alouettes fans meanwhile will have inflatable games set up on-site to enjoy.

Set to run through June 18, the Alouettes’ entire 2014 training camp will be open to the public and fans are invited to attend practice every day.
