MONTREAL – The Alouettes announced on Wednesday that the club has added international receiver and return specialist James Rodgers to the practice roster.
Rodgers (5’7”, 185 lbs.) established team records with the Oregon State University Beavers with 6,377 career all-purpose yards and 222 receptions. He was the first player in Beavers history to tally over 1,000 rushing yards and 2,000 receiving yards over the course of his collegiate career, racking up a streak of at least one catch in each of his last 41 games.
The Richmond, TX native was also part of the Beavers track and field team, where he ran the 100-yard dash in 10.25 seconds.
Previously, the 25-year-old was part of the Atlanta Falcons practice roster in both 2012 and 2013.
He becomes the second player on the Alouettes roster with a brother who plays in the NFL, joining cornerback Mitchell White in that category. Jacquizz Rodgers is a running back for the Atlanta Falcons while Myles White plays for the Green Bay Packers.
