Since the beginning of the 2014 CFL season, no team has allowed more quarterback sacks per game than the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The TiCats allow an average of 3,75 sacks per game this season. Those problems will probably be exploited by the Alouettes defensive line.

Led by John Bowman, this line has registered 25 sacks this year. Following a game where they sacked Henry Burris on 3 occasions, that line has the potential to disrupt Zach Collaros’ pocket on multiple occasions on Sunday afternoon.

The Alouettes should also have an advantage on the line of scrimmage when their offensive unit will be on the field. In the East division, no team has allowed less quarterback sacks than the Alouettes this season.

Odds are that the Hamilton Tiger-Cats are not the team that is going to change this statistic. Hamilton currently ranks last in the CFL with 18 quarterback sacks. Against the best offensive line in the East, the Tiger-Cats will have a lot of troubles getting to Jonathan Crompton.

Vengeance in mind

On Sunday, it will be the first regular season game between the Alouettes and the Tiger-Cats since Hamilton eliminated Montreal in the 2013 East semi-final. It will be the 1st occasion for vengeance for the Alouettes.

That elimination confirmed Hamilton’s status as the Alouettes’ bane in 2013. Last season, Hamilton won 3 of the 4 games between the two teams. Despite that record, the Alouettes had a +23 point differential in those games.

This means that the Tiger-Cats won a lot of close games versus the Alouettes in 2013. On Sunday, in front of their faithful fans, Montreal will get their first chance to reverse the tendency that cost them their chance at a Grey Cup in 2013.

65 yards away from an important milestone

Sunday, S.J. Green could get to an important career milestone. He only needs 65 receiving yards to get to 5000 career receiving yards. Since the receiver got more than the 65 yards he needs in 2 of his last 3 matchups versus the Tiger-Cats, there’s a good chance that the fans who’ll watch the Week 11 matchup will get to see an important moment in the career of the receiver that’s been representing Montreal for 8 seasons now.

Milestones To Watch For

  • Brandon London is 118 yards away from getting his 2000th receiving yard with the Montreal Alouettes.

  • Marc-Olivier Brouillette needs 4 defensive tackles to have his best season in the CFL.

  • John Bowman is 4 quarterback sacks away from the top 20 of all-time in the CFL. He has 78 in his career with the Alouettes.

  • Bear Woods will try to record 4 defensive tackles or more for a 4th consecutive game.

  • Kenny Stafford’s next catch will be his 25th career reception in the CFL.

  • Éric Deslauriers is 4 catches away from his 100th with the Alouettes.

  • Alan-Michael Cash’s next quarterback sack will be his 10th CFL career sack.

  • Brandon Whitaker needs 22 carries to get his 600th carry with the Alouettes.

REMINDER: Please note that the north entrance to the west end-zone will now close 10 minutes before kick-off until 5 minutes following the final whistle. During the game, access to the west end-zone will be limited to the south entrance only.

PRE-GAME PARTY »

Once again this season, starting two hours before kick-off, Alouettes cheerleaders, alumni, and players, as well as team mascot Touché will be on-site outside of Percival Molson Memorial Stadium’s east entrance to sign autographs, take photos, and mingle with fans.

Already backed by some of the loudest supporters in the CFL, a drumline meanwhile will be adding to the aural ambiance, and major team sponsors will also be doing their part to keep things festive.
