MONTREAL – The Montreal Alouettes announced on Tuesday that the club has added international quarterback Jerrod Johnson to the practice roster.
Johnson (6’5″, 250 lbs.) amassed 8,011 passing yards during his four-year college career with the Texas A&M Aggies all while throwing 67 touchdown passes. His 8,011 passing yards and 8,888 total yards both represent school records. He had his best season with the Aggies in 2009 when he completed 296 of 497 passes for 3,579 yards to go along with 30 touchdown passes. He also picked up 506 yards on the ground and registered eight rushing touchdowns that season.
He spent part of the 2013 season on the Chicago Bears’ practice roster under the tutelage of former Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman. He has also been under contract with the Seattle Seahawks, Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles. In 2012, he suited up for the Sacramento Mountain Lions.
