MONTREAL – After four years heading up Bleublancrouge, the Montreal marketing communications agency, as President and COO, Bernard Asselin has decided to follow his passion for sports. He will join the Montreal Alouettes as CMO, Vice President Sales. In this newly created position, he will be responsible for branding, marketing, sales and fan experience for the Montreal sports organization founded in 1946.

“With his success at RDS, Bell, The Gazette and Bleublancrouge (the Alouettes’ advertising agency), Bernard is the ideal candidate to drive our company’s innovation and superior experience offering,” said Mark Weightman, Alouettes’ President and CEO.

“By growing the Quebec Toyota Dealers Association account and doing an exemplary job managing the company, Bernard fulfilled and even surpassed his mission to build a world-class organization. We are very happy that in this new chapter, our close relationship with Bernard, which has already lasted almost 20 years, will continue. He will once again be our client after having been before at RDS and at The Gazette newspaper,” added Sébastien Fauré, Bleublancrouge’s CEO.

A gradual transition phase is already underway to enable Bernard to assume his new position full time as of December 1. Until then, he will continue to provide superior service to Bleublancrouge clients and support his colleagues at the agency.
