MONTREAL – Montreal Alouettes’ international receiver Duron Carter was named the CFL’s Offensive Player of the Week following a brilliant performance that helped his team clinch a playoff spot for a 19th consecutive year.
In a crucial contest where the Alouettes come out victorious over the Toronto Argonauts last Sunday at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, Carter had his best career outing with 11 catches good for 181 receiving yards. He also scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to give his team the lead for good.
Since the beginning of the season, the Ohio State University product has established himself as one of the best receiver in the CFL. In fourteen contests this season, Carter recorded six touchdowns and 987 receiving yards on 71 catches. At only 23 years of age, the Fort Lauderdale, FL native is already a dangerous weapon within young Offensive co-ordinator Ryan Dinwiddie’s unit.
